Privacy Blur Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 2026
At Innovate Beacon, we believe that your private data should stay private. This Privacy Policy explains how the Privacy Blur Chrome Extension handles your information.
1. Zero Data Collection Policy
Privacy Blur is built on the principle of local-first processing. To ensure your maximum security:
- No External Transmission: We do not collect, store, or transmit any data from the webpages you visit to our servers or any third-party services.
- No Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, your location, or your usage patterns.
- No Personal Information: We do not ask for or collect names, emails, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
2. How the Extension Works
Privacy Blur operates entirely within your browser environment:
- Local CSS Injection: When you use the blur tool, the extension applies CSS filters locally to the DOM of the active tab. This visual change only exists on your local machine.
- Smart Scan Logic: The AI-powered pattern detection (Smart Scan) runs locally using efficient browser-based logic to identify sensitive strings (like emails or keys) for redaction. No page content is sent to an external AI for this process.
3. Permissions and Their Purpose
To function correctly, Privacy Blur requires the following permissions:
- ActiveTab: To interact with the content of the tab you are currently viewing and apply blur effects.
- Scripting: To inject the necessary styles and scripts required for the brush interface and redaction logic.
- Storage: To save your extension preferences (e.g., blur intensity) locally on your device.
4. Third-Party Services
Privacy Blur does not integrate with any third-party analytics or advertising trackers. It is a pure utility tool designed for privacy.
5. Your Control
You have full control over the extension's data. Since all settings are stored in your browser's local storage, you can wipe all data by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser's extension data.
